Welcome from NH! The 365 is a small pistol and the short recoil spring can be stiff until broken in. Put a bunch of rounds through it and it will start to loosen up. And the slide release will be easier as well. Use your support hand if necessary until it gets easier.

Rating recoil on a scale from 1 to 10 with a 10 being the easiest to handle, I'd see the factory assembly as an 8 and the DPM being a 9 or slightly higher. By no means is the factory assembly terrible but I found shot recovery smoother with the DPM.

Recoil is subjective, but if 9mm is bothering you enough to want to reduce it, you may want to look at a smaller caliber. My P365 works 100% stock, I will keep it stock.
